Raw Vegan
The Raw Vegan Lifestyle
A variation of veganism that consists only of unprocessed, uncooked plant foods (or foods cooked below 104°F–118°F) to preserve natural enzymes.
Raw veganism takes the vegan philosophy a step further by consuming only unprocessed, uncooked plant foods. Proponents generally do not heat foods above a temperature range of 104°F to 118°F to preserve naturally occurring enzymes.
This diet focuses heavily on raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains. While it is praised for its high intake of raw micronutrients, it requires meticulous planning to avoid deficiencies in essential vitamins like B12 or minerals like iron.
